I am grateful to be a teacher here at Strasburg Elementary School. My family is a multi generational military family, with both of my grandfathers and my father being colonels in the Army. As a child, I moved frequently and attended many schools across the United States and in Germany, including four different high schools!
Later after marrying an educator, having children and locating in small eastern Colorado towns, I knew I wanted to teach and added education courses to my bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I was a stay at home mom until our youngest went to school and I have now been teaching in the primary grades for twenty-four years. I really don’t think there is any other work that could be as important and meaningful as nurturing and teaching children. In addition to our three grown children, two of whom have master’s degrees in curriculum in education, Larry and I have four grandchildren, two of whom live in Malaysia. I have a twin brother, love animals, music, gardening, walking and hiking, volleyball, travelling, reading and knitting and am working on playing the piano and dulcimer. Larry and I are members of Montview Presbyterian Church and participate in several activities and service programs.
