Hi, my name is Mrs. Deb Osborne. I am one of the Special Education teachers here at the Elementary School. I have taught everything from pre-school to High School English during my educational career, but Special Education is my passion. I have been a SPED teacher for seventeen years now, and I am in my thirteenth year here at Strasburg Elementary.
My husband, Greg and I moved to Strasburg eighteen years ago, and we love it here! Both of our boys, Nicholas and Stephen, graduated from Strasburg High School. We are now empty-nesters, so it is pretty quiet around our house, unless my beloved West Virginia Mountaineers are playing on TV! I grew up in West Virginia, and it is still “home” to me! When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, going to musicals (I’ve seen “Wicked” eight times!) and watching “Jeopardy”. I am a trivia fanatic, and my dream is to get on “Jeopardy” someday. I always take the online test every year, but so far they haven’t called me. =-( I also love watching all levels of football and basketball, but my absolute favorite thing to do is travel! In the summer, it is difficult to catch me at home, as I am always flying off to somewhere. My family is spread all over the country, so I always have somewhere to go. I have two grandaughters, and they are the light of my life! Nevaeh, who is six years old just started first grade. She lives in Minnesota, so that is a frequent travel destination! My other grandaughter, Evelyn Claire is 20 months old and lives right here in Strasburg, which is a blessing. She is at that age where she is into everything, so when I babysit her, she really keeps me hopping!
My personal philosophy is that all children can learn. Some just need time, opportunity and extra support to achieve their potential. My door is always open, so feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, or just to chat about your child.
